New Orleans Libations and Alcohol (NOLA) Distilling Co was founded by Kirk Coco mid 2015, following a visit to Curaçao. Kirk was so amazed that such a tiny island could create a world famous product in its namesake, that he was inspired to try to make something of his own. After the rousing success of NOLA Brewing Co (New Orleans Lager and Ale), a distillery seemed like the next logical step. (And besides, he was getting tired of drinking beer every day).

Looking for a signature product that truly felt local and connected to not just New Orleans, but to Louisiana and the south, sweet potatoes were chosen for our base spirit. In October of 2016, production began, and two months later, the first cases of NOLA Vodka rolled out into distribution. NOLA Vodka is a certified Louisiana product, and is made from 100% local sweet potatoes. All our potatoes come from Deshotel Farms in Bunkie, LA.

Our Tasting Room opened in late April 2017, and for the first six months, mixed up an array of cocktails using just our sweet potato vodka. In October, things started heating up, and we released our hot pepper infused vodka, the Coffee Cruiser, and a clear rum.

Our full time team includes: Founder Kirk Coco, Master Distiller David Bock, Tasting Room Manager Niki Sideris, & Distiller Cody Collins.
